The Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates Alumnae Chapter is best known for our youth programs focused on promoting academic excellence and developing leadership potential in middle and high school students. Our highly specialized curriculum are developed by education professionals, tailored to create an environment where students are encouraged to flourish academically and personally. We launched our first program over 15 years ago, and have grown to over 50 students across multiple program tracks. Our programs have been recognized locally and nationally.

There are several programs available to students:

  • The Dr. Betty Shabazz Academy
    • The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy will work to target 6th-8th grade female students, with a strong emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in our community.
  • Delta G.E.M.S.
    • Our Delta Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully works to target high school female students in our community.
  • E.M.B.O.D.I.
    • Our Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence program, will work to address issues affecting African American males in our community.

The programs are created to build long-standing mentor relationships in our community. Students are encouraged to enter the program as early as 6th grade and follow through to high school graduation. The curriculum is updated yearly to create an exciting and worthwhile experience for the students and the parents.

Programs begin January 13, 2018 and run through May 12, 2018.
